Spode Archive Collection Dinner Plate Georgian Series Titled Rome 10 1/4 Inches Black and White
This dinner plate is part of the Spode Archive Collection Georgian Series Titled 'Rome.' It is the black and white color, was made in England, and discontinued around 1996 to 2006. The back stamp states that this style was first introduced c.1811; and also states that it is an under-glaze print from a hand engraved copper plate. Spode launched the Archive Collection series around 1987 and produced the series in a Cranberry color. Due to the success of the collection, Spode launched the series in other colors, including lilac, brown, green, black and white, and the Blue Room. This particular plate is in the black and white color, which is more difficult to find. The plate is in very good used condition with no chips or cracks. It has a scalloped edge and measures 10 1/4 inches across.
